În cel de-al doilea volum al seriei, Whit şi Wisty Allgood îşi continuă aventurile în lumea lor mereu schimbătoare. Ei au evadat din închisorile regimului totalitar şi s-au refugiat din nou pe Tărâmul Liber ─ zona populată de copiii care au reuşit să scape de răpire, întemniţare şi spălare a creierelor. Însă acest spaţiu devine din ce în ce mai mic pe măsură ce soldaţii Noului Ordin pătrund tot mai mult pe teritoriul lor.
Acum, cei doi se află în fruntea mişcării de rezistenţă a copiilor, şi în acelaşi timp încearcă să înveţe să-şi folosească magia şi să o ţină sub control.
Wisty poate izbucni în flăcări fără să se ardă, dar nu poate controla când, unde şi cât de fierbinte să fie focul.
Whit îşi poate schimba forma şi poate muta lucrurile din loc, dar nu întotdeauna atunci când vrea: uneori nu se întâmplă nimic; alteori, ceea ce se întâmplă nu este exact ce dorise el. Dar Darurile lor, şi mai ales cel al lui Wisty, sunt râvnite de Cel Care Este Unic, conducătorul crud şi brutal al Noului Ordin, care este dispus să ofere în schimbul lor vieţile părinţilor celor doi, prizonierii săi.
Şi în acest volum tensiunea se simte din primele rânduri, iar combinaţia de mister şi fantezie devine mai incitantă. Whit şi Wisty, urmăriţi pentru „complicitate, conspiraţie şi efectuarea de experimente cu arta neagră şi vătămătoare”, sunt mereu pe fugă sau se luptă cu urmăritorii lor. În acelaşi timp, Wisty are câteva momente romantice, dar şi o clipă de respiro, când cântă la un festival de muzică Stockwood (nu Woodstock!). Personajele celor doi devin acum mai interesante şi mai complexe, dialogurile lor sunt amuzante şi inteligente, iar schimbarea continuă a punctului de vedere în fiecare capitol de la Wisty la Whit face ca povestea să fie extrem de alertă şi captivantă.

Luke cleared his throat, bringing her thoughts back to the present. “So, about these nightmares.”
“I thought we changed the subject away from them.” Allai crossed her arms and fingered the sleeves of the old t-shirt she used as a pajama top. She always felt like her hands had to be doing something. The Demons she lived with were constantly alert and responsive, so the least she could do was look active.
“You changed the subject,” Luke said. “I never agreed to it. So how are you going to stop your nightmares?”
“You said it yourself. They’re not just going to stop.”
“Of course not. You have to make them stop.”
“How the hell do you expect me to do that?” She took a deep breath, and then said in a calmer tone, “He tried to kill me, Luke. You were there, you know the details. How am I supposed to just push that memory away?”
“Don’t push at it,” Luke said. “Just accept it. Embrace it, and then move on.”
There was no way she could do that. Part of her wanted to; getting that memory out of her head would be beyond relieving. But the other part wanted to remember, because every memory she had of Drake Rhaize was a piece to a puzzle. And part of her hoped that once she put together the entire puzzle, it would tell a different story than her nightmare.

Sarbatorim cu BM 1000 de followeri!
Suntem asteptati cu totii pe Bibliophile Mystery sa sarbatorim 1000 de followeri. Concursuri fulger si o mare surpriza la ora 22:00 sunt pregatite pentru noi. Asa ca raspanditi vestea cat mai departe posibil, si nu ezitati sa participati la concursuri. Sunt de toate pentru toti!
La mai multi followeri BM!!!
Neintelegeri?!
Dragii mei, la postarea cu concursul fulger, au existat niste neintelegeri, din partea unora dintre cititori.
In postare, am scris clar ca pana la ora 12:00 se pot face inscrierile, nu pana la ora 24:00. La ora 17:00, in aceeasi zi, aveam sa aleg castigatorii. Am fost insa ingaduitoare, si pana la ora la care am scris postarea, in jur de ora 17:00, am inclus si participantii care se inscrisesera pana la acea ora. Ceea ce m-a deranjat extrem de tare, e ca am impresia ca unii dintre voi cititi printre randuri, sau nu stiti sa faceti diferente dintre ora 12:00 si ora 24:00. Cum puteam sa postez castigatorii la ora 17:00, in aceeasi zi, ma repet, daca concursul se termina la ora 24:00?! De aceea am si ingrosat cu rosu ora limita, ca sa fiti atenti, sa va sara mai bine in ochi!
Rugamintea mea e, ca la urmatoarele concursuri, cand mai participati, cititi tot, si nu mai sariti ca de ce nu sunteti pe lista participantilor. Poate sunt dura, dar va rog atat sa faceti, fiti corecti si cititi tot, apoi sariti cu intrebari si altele. Si imi asum si faptul ca poate, in urma acestei postari, e posibil sa-mi pierd din abonati. Au fost participanti care au fost descalificati, dar nu au sarit in sus ca de ce. Au verificat, si au vazut am avut dreptate, si nu s-au suparat.
In alta ordine de idei, pachetele pentru Katherine si Izabela, nu cred ca le voi putea pune saptamana aceasta la posta. Sotul meu a suferit un accident de servici, si are nevoie de insotitor. De aceea si postarile o sa fie mai rare.
